Hi Ron,

Can you post some personal experience with water in wvo and what harm it caused? After a lot of reading on the forums and 60K trouble free miles on a self designed system (not in a Mercedes), I'd tend to agree with your assessment. I only use my own filtered grease and never begged for grease since I wanted to keep it a controlled experiment. So far I have enjoyed zero WVO related issues, engine runs great, compression is perfect (440 psi on all 4 cyl, taken every 15k mile). To the naysayers: Maybe it will crap out tomorrow but I have good confidence it will not. But if it does, you will be the first to know.

Don't forget biodiesel is not totally problem free. Commercial bio in this country is not there yet in quality. One bad tank can ruin your engine. Making your own bio is an option but like anything there is a steep learning curve with its pitfalls. There is also the hazards of toxic chemicals and explosions if not done right, not something I would do unless done in an industrial area.

Yes, I think filtering is less important than de-watering. If you don't filter the oil well enough, you will just plug your onboard filter. If you don't de-water properly, you will reduce the life of your engine or ruin it compleatly.
