w124 self levelling suspension too high

Hi,

I have a 1993 320TE (124092) with sportline suspension. Being a T-model it comes with the self-levelling system. I have just had the suspension pipes renewed and the rear axle rebuilt. It seems to me (and my mechanic) that the car is sitting very high at the rear and rather low at the front. The adjustable rod from the sway bar to the self-levelling unit is at the maximum extent of its adjustment.

Having done a throrough search of the forum, it seems to me there are three possibilities:

(1) the suspension links were tightened without putting the weight of the car on the axle: i.e., with the car on the hoist and the suspension dangling.

(2) the height control valve is shot, part # A202 320 02 58.

(3) the front springs are sagging and need replacement.

Am I right? Or could it be something else? It seems to me most likely to be (1) or (2). Thanks for any forthcoming help.
