The easiest way is simply to visit your local MB Dealer. Take the VIN and radio serial number. Using the MB Database, they can look up the radio code for the original radio in the car. It may be different than the unit currently installed. That's why it's sometimes a good idea to take the radio serial number.

Of the 3 times I have gone to the MB dealer (2 different dealers) over the years, with 3 different vehicles - all out of warranty - I only got charged once... a big, whopping $10... just ten bucks. Any MB Dealer will cheerfully retrieve the radio code from their database. In most cases, for free as long as they know you've purchased stuff (parts, accessories, anything, etc.) from them at some point. The entire process takes less than 5 minutes. Just show them *any* form of proof of ownership - insurance, title, registration... virtually anything that is legit. They will call up the radio code based on your VIN or radio serial number.

As a helpful tip, the database page that the radio code is located actually contains a ton of useful historical information if your vehicle was purchased through a 3rd party. Ask them to print it out for you while on the screen.
