I have been talking to a lady for 9 months about her 82 300d turbo. Originally wanted 15K, garage kept, serviced etc. Now we are down to the $2,500 area. Diesels are a good buy but hard to sell. I am her "only" interested party and willing to trade for remodel work. As diesel enthusiests we are a small part of the market. DIY is an economic necssity for me. They don't teach shop (auto, wood or metal) in high school anymore (thank you lawyers). So most people are incapable of maintaining one. Going to the dealer is big$$$. Indy's are good but diesels are not thier main focus.

As I have posted before there are alot of good old diesels sitting in driveways, given up for more modern, easier to deal with vehicles. It is the age of instant gratification.

I love my 76 300D. Great ride, timeless look, fairly easy to work on. I make a car payment when something breaks. I (we) am/are the exception, not the rule.
