I have a 1985 300sd that has had the trap oxidizer replaced with the retrofit (some sort of diesal catalytic converter) during the recall in the 90's. The retrofit is now leaking and I have read that MBZ is now removing the entire trap and putting in a straight piece of pipe in its place (with the federal governments permission).

I'd appreciate hearing if this fix has been performed and if so was it under that "lifetime warranty". At this point MBZ is denying there is any warranty after the retrofit. Thanks
