A few details on the ccv filter if you decide to do it.1 i dont know how it might work in really cold weather it might freeze up,in Florida it works great.2 when you get the filter look in the inlet port,the hole is small i drilled it out with a 1/2" drill bit which makes it about the same size as the rest of the system.3 I did not use the white filter that comes with it i substituted a piece of 3/4" pvc pipe with alot of holes drilled in it wrapped in a piece of green scrubber pad. I have had the same filter on my jetta for over 2 yrs and there is not a trace of black oil where the vent enters the intake pipe.I cleaned the intake manifold once,that was enough!so now i have cleaned the one on the MB once and dont expect to have to do it again.
