Those international v8s are very very high quality. When in good tune they idle so smoothly I wouldn't be surprised if you can stand a nickel on the engine. Very high tolerances and must be well balanced too.
They will run forever....as long as you can afford the gas to fill them.
Getting rid of old gas is a b!tch. I have taken a gallon at a time if it isn't too gummy and put it in my cars and run it off.
I could find NOBODY who would take it. I once dumped some down the sewer simply because I couldn't find anyone to take it.
My 66 scout snow plower has a half of one as a four cylinder....rated at about 90 hp, iirc. 177 ci iirc.
