1983 240d got it to go can't get it to stop
Well I got thru the vacuum issues
and now have a great shifting car, shuts off quick and the door locks work. Actually, seems to accelerate a lil bit better. Well I have been enjoying driving it around town and my inspection is up at the end of this month so i popped by the inspection station. They went to do the brake test and poof no more rear brakes. The inspector said he felt the line blow out and that fluid is dripping down the frame by the rear axle more toward the middle. The soft lines running to the calipers are fine but soon to be replaced. How difficult is it to replace the rear brake line from the master cylinder back? I got an estimate of between $250-$500. I think that is kinda high plus for how far my mechanic is I'd have to have it towed. It's a lil nerve racking stopping with front brakes only and using the emergency brake
Anyhow thanks for any advice, this forum has been great learning and fixing a lot of things on my baby. Oh and do they call it a project car cause every weekend there's something else to fix???
