Following the EXCELLENT posts regarding ignition lock cylinder replacement- I removed the old ignition cylinder on my 83 240D and purchased a replacement from M-B based on the VIN number. (After waiting 2 weeks for part to ship from germany) the key fits perfectly and the tumbler turns, but the external cylinder does not match the original. The external cam does not align and the face does not have the "pinhole" for the installation pin(paperclip). Any members have similar issues?
