If you have the part number, I will assume you can see the back of the temp display to determine if it is five pin or four pin.

I just checked Ebay and there are a couple of them being offered. Both pin types for your W124. Both however display farenheit temp. May be what you are looking for.

Go to Ebay motors. Under the parts and accessories section click on car and truck.
Then in the search bar type in Mercedes outside temp. Relatively easy to replace. I changed out mine that read celcius and put one in that read farhenheit. Just be sure when you are browsing through Ebay, or anywhere else, that the display appears perfect. No evidence of heat damage. Happy hunting.
