I looked at the MPG figures for the Bluetec, and it seemed that the CDI had better figures. I drove a CDI back in January, and loved it. Too bad it was beige, but still - if I had to buy a newer diesel car, a new 2008 VW Jetta Sportwagen TDI (Common-rail) or a lightly used W211 E-Class CDI would top my list. 369 lb/ft or torque? Sign me up.

I like the fact that the CDI has an inline-6, too.
