M Class folks,

I had to replace the battery on my 2001 ML 320 over the weekend. I noticed a 5/16 or 3/8 stud in the firewall behind the battery with 2 positive conductors connected to it that was very badly corroded. I cleaned them up and coated them with a dielectric grease.

Can anyone tell me what this stud powers? Is it the can bus? I have noticed a couple of the "gremlins" (e.g. the cd player not being recognized) have disapeared. More curious than anything.
