"Limp Home Mode" is a condition designed to protect the trans from damage when a trans fault is registered. What you are expiriencing is a "loss of power" at higher rpm's.
Do the transducer test E300D97 provided, make certain the EGR & RF's arent sticking and confirm the new MAF is working; would not be the first time one didnt work out of the box.
Batt voltage should be checked wiht a multi meter, not by feeling. For fun and a general idea you can review Voltage on your CCU. Press and hold rest for 5 secs, use L or R Auto button and toggle to screen 24. Press rest to exit.
You might try driving around with the voltage displayed and note if any voltage discrepancies occur during the next loss of power event.
