If tranny was fine before the change I would suspect the fill level.

If was having problems beforehand it may require adjustment. Shifts are controlled by throttle position and vacuum. Check to be certain you didnt knock a vacuum line off somewhere.

The modulator (vacuum) is on the side of the trans and controls firmness. Throttle position controls shift point and is adusted by the bowden cable. Go slow and easy on both and mark your start point so you can go back to it if needed.
