Just remember another small item that frequently causes balancing problems...

Look in the carb manual on the Jaime site:

There are some photos in the section for the choke tie rod. The little linkage access hole on the carb top is normally sealed off with a pop-out plastic cover. You should ensure these covers are in place when balancing, or if lost, seal them off with duct tape. Air will leak into the carb via these open holes rendering your balancing effort a waste of time.
