I Rigged Up Acetone injection into my 82 300d. It was very simple, pump activated by the kickdown circut, sprayed a mist of acetone right infront of the turbo inlet in the U tube. End result was more power, cleaned out the intake, and cooled the charge air quite a bit. I haven't recorded the temperature yet but it cooled it down so much that I could hold my hand on the compressor side of the turbo after a half hour of driving. But heat soak catches up quick and it gets really hot after a few mins. No ill effects yet, but on an unrelated issue the plastic outlet on the top of the rad cracked when I was changing the hoses so now I am sitting here waiting for parts. It was the same day I rigged up the acetone circut and I was just starting to have fun
