The only 'open hose' I can think of on ours is the coolant reservoir overflow hose, which terminates near the auxiliary water pump for the heater, against the passenger side fender-well. If this is the one you mean, water exiting here means a faulty reservoir pressure cap or extremely high system pressure - such as with a head gasket leak.
