I caught a clip this morning where 2 burned bodies were discovered after the area where they lived was re-opened to residents. Apparently these folks were urged to leave by officials and their neighbors begged them to go. But no, they stayed and died.
They made a conscious decision, ingored prudence and paid with their lives.

What tune is appropriate for them?

I can only shake my head in bewilderment. I feel no sorrow for them. I do feel sympathy for their surviving children or other family members, if they have any. They have been needlessly deprived of their parents love, joy and affection by stupidity.

We all assume risk in choosing a place to live.. be it from flood, hurricane, tornado, or whatever. In CA's case, it's a trifecta of sorts. Fire, Mudslides and Earthquakes. You pays your money... you take your choice.

It's sad, but it's life.
