$2200 is a bunch to pay if you're not in it for the long-haul. A shame, they really are fun and dependable cars when sorted out.
However, the IP usually doesn't fail in the 60x engines unless run on improper fuels, look for a used one on a car without a veggie conversion and have it installed is my opinion.
You might also install a vacuum/pressure gauge on the fuel inlet of the IP just to be sure you don't have a supply problem at WOT.
DISCLAIMER:
I'm not bashing veggie or other conversions above, but it is more difficult for most of us to determine whether a conversion is a good one or a bad one than to just look for a car not converted. It has been stated here many times that a bad veggie conversion can toast an IP.
