Have the same problem with my steering wheel on my '89 300E. I'm in NC so maybe the previous owner from Raliegh had a death-grip. Can't believe the haet would do it as it's rarely ovber 95 in the summer.

Would love to know of a fix as the cover is similar to a mtorcycle accelerator at the 2 and 10 o'clock positions.

Help!
