Yup, that's how it works. On an old water cooled Porsche I had I used one of these to keep temps down. Worked like a charm. IIRC, all I had to do was drain the radiator and replace the sensor.

Does anyone know what the ideal operating temp is? It seems 90 degrees is awfully low to kick the fan on.
