on my '85 280CE. From what I've read the tranny is the same as the 300D/TD/CD. It wasn't shifting properly before in any gears, but it was suggested I check the switch under the gas pedal...and that was it. It shifts flawlessly 1-2, 2-3, 3-2, and 2-1. I just haven't gotten it to go into 4th.

Does anyone here have decent tranny experience? Is this something that can be fixed by a solenoid swap or something other than dropping the tranny for a 4 speed swap (as it'll likely cost me less than a rebuild).
