1. What type of ignition system does the 320e- where is the crank angle sensor (CAS) and what type is it (Optical/LED Sensor? Hall Sensor? VR Sensor?)

2. How many teeth/windows/slots and what orientation does the CAS crank trigger? (any missing? all evenly spaced?)

3. Does this engine have a fast idle valve (IAC)? If so, how many wires are connected to it?

thanx in advance
Hi taint,
The crank sensor is located by the transmission bell house. It's a VR sensor. Their should be three events every 360 degrees spaced at 120 deg like the M103 but I'm not 100% sure of that.

If you want ignition timing control your going to have to run EDIS. You can use to original coils as long as the primary resistance is about the same as the stock EDIS coils. Just mount an EDIS trigger wheel to the balancer. and you can get both of your signals from there.

The M104 uses a stepper motor directly driving the throttle to adjust IAC. You probably want to consider dumping it and getting a mechanical TB and separate IAC as they are badly designed and cost a ton to replace when they fail.
