Fuel filter is located under the car, approximately where the rear passenger sits. There is a plastic cover with three plastic bolts, that needs to come off first. You will then see the metal canister...the rest ought to be straight forward. Let the car rest for a while, or better yet, do it first thing in the morning before you go anywhere - this way, you reduce the risk of getting premium sprayed on your face.

If you are lucky, that's the cause of your troubles. (and you should probably go to your house of worship and sacrifice a goat or something, for you will have gotten truly lucky)
