Well I followed the advice of everyone here and used the SEM dye to recolor a grey console box to match the creme beige MB tex in my 87 300E. It came out perfect. The Acura Creamy Ivory #17323 is a spot-on color match. total cost for dye, vinyl prep and cleaner was $30 from NAPA and I have plenty left to freshen up other interior parts that are bit faded after 20 years.
