I note that among his many accomplishments, the autor of the piece that you quoted listed being one of the first Jews to shake hands with Yasser Arafat (or words to that effect).

Now let me see if I have this straight:

1. The man you quoted is supposed to be a "great" Jews whose writings are above reproach due to his many "accomplishments."

2. Among these so-called accomplishments is the fact that he shook hands with Yasser Arafat (with me so far?).

3. Yasser Arafat headed a group that ordered the killing of innocent civilians, among them the passengers in the Sabena flight that were murdered by Palestinian thugs, the killing of Israeli Olympic ahtletes in (of all places, Munich), the assasination of diplomats in Khartoum. In fact, groups under Arafat's direct or indirect command – including Fatah, Black September, Tanzim and Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigade – were responsible for hundreds of bombings, hijackings, assassinations and other attacks, including the 1972 murder of 11 of Israel's Olympic athletes in Munich, (already mentioned above) the 1973 murder of the American ambassador to Sudan, Cleo Noel, (already mentioned above) and the 1985 hijacking of the Achille Lauro cruiseship (resulting in the murder of wheelchair-bound Leon Klinghoffer).

4. Your author shakes hands that are covered with the blood of innocent Israelis, and this makes him a hero and beyond reproach on anything he writes about Jews and Israel?

Oy vey!

If any other Jew listed among his accomplishments that he shook hands with Herr Fuhrer and "pal" around with him, would that make him a great Jew qualified to comment about Jews and would that shield his writings from all criticism?

I think not!
