I've had good luck selling cars on ebay. My advice would be to set a reasonable reserve and a "buy it now" price, as well as including *good* pictures and good information with the listing. However, don't overdo the pictures (too long to load on many computers) and don't overdescribe the car, just be honest and forthright.
On a diesel benz, the real diselphiles are going to be looking for service records, rust, originality, condition of wear items, does the a/c work, does it leak oil, etc. All the issues you read about on these boards.
The cars I have sold have ended with the "buy it now", which is usually higher than what I expect to receive.
That said, sometimes it takes a few tries.
