Ever get caught doing it the hard way...tumbler removal

Well my key cylinder locked up last night at a friends house. So I got on this forum and found some help but I guess I didn't except Mercedes Benz to build a bomb proof tumbler assembly.

As I have read the easy way is to drill the locking pin out.
Well I didn't know that soon enough.....

So I pulled the whole steering column out of the car. I had very little room to work under the dash and it seemed very easy to pull and work on the bench. Well the electrical plug is locked by the cylinder...who knew. So after just about breaking the plug a was able to get the outer plug the seprate.

While out on the bench I used a die grinder to cut the outer collar
A little more grinder work and out came the cylinder and the steering lock.

So I went to the trusty parts car and was able the pull the assembly the correct way and re-installed in my column. Worked great after about 4 hours
BY no means is this a tech or a how-to just sharing to fun
I also feel safe that only a pro would be able to steal my junk...and then if he is a pro car thief what does he/she want with a 82 Diesel benz with 325K
