You might try looking at the link Howitzer provided above. They claim that fairly small and lightweight units are available that are suitable for normal use of hair dryers and such.

For application where continuous duty and/or grounded plug are required, they also sell "real deal" transformers expressly for such purposes (and yes, they are heavy as expected).
