Well, S&W made quite a lot of models!
The more common full-size are:
4506 - full size, steel frame, steel slide, Double Action/Single Action trigger
4543 - full size, alloy frame, steel slide, Double Action/Single Action trigger
4586 - full size, steel frame, steel slide, Double Action only trigger
Slightly smaller:
4513 - steel frame, steel slide, Double Action/Single Action trigger
4576 - steel frame, steel slide, frame-mounted decocker like the 10mm 1076, which was briefly used by the FBI.
Others:
CS45 - compact, "Chief's Special"
457 - compact, blue economy version of the CS45
M&P .45 - full size, polymer frame
There are model revisions, or "dash" versions, such as 4506-2, which signify an update to the previous design.
Then, there are the TSW (Tactical S&W) series, which were an upgrade to the standard models, and included rails for tactical lights. They are reported to be a significant upgrade to the non-TSW
There are a lot of others, but I can't recall off the top of my head.
Like single-malt scotch, all are good, some are better.
