The Smith auto's of their own design are awful, I had a Mod.469 that just about impossible to reassemble after a teardown and cleaning, it had all sorfts of levers and sears that didn't want to lay down. Dreadful design. The .45's that are modeled on the classic 1911 should be a different story, but I've never picked one up.

Smith revolvers are a joy...I have a 1960's era Mod.36 that is just beautifully built, looks great, shoots reliably and doesn't leave brass laying around for evidence like a magazine-fed weapon does.
