I was thinking something like a Glock 26 would be better for conceled carry, which he is considering getting his permit for. The Glock 26 is nice and small, and I thought Glocks were bullit proof. But the gun store owner said Glocks have a very light triggar and poorly designed safety. So you can shoot yourself in the foot real easy, like the DEA agent on Youtube.
He also wants a .45 insted of the 9mm. Which I guess is the never ending debate... He wants the .45 because its more powerfull, might as well bring the largest cannon to the fight you can. So I suggested the .50AE Desert Eagle.
The store owner did say that H&K and Sig are the best of the best, just expensive. When I get a pistol I'm getting the H&K because I like buying German. They had an H&K Socom with the silencer there, Hattie wants! What do you need to do to get a silencer? I was told just pay a tax? The laser is a nice touch, but sadly extra.

I owned a H&K USP 45 back in the mid-Nineties. Very nice, well-built and a nice shooter. I also had the Sig Sauer P-220, which I wish I still had. Both are physically large pistols, which worked for me as I have big paws.
My philosophy on purchases like this is to buy the best that you can't afford.
