The Germans and Swiss are too expensive. For my beers and chocolate, I always preferred the Belgians. Make that for semi automatic pistols too.

The FN Hi Power is avaliable in 9mm or 40 SW, in the 9mm variation has a 13 round magazine, can be had in DA or SA, and was designed by the late great John Browning. Perfect melding of American no frills with European quality. As soon as I get my handgun licensce, this is what I will be getting.

Having shot one, it was one of the most easily controllable, easy to handle pistols I have shot. And the aesthetics are very appealing, at least to me. And it has a long history, dating back to 1935. All good things in my book.
