I have to admit, the thing does look sorta cool.

I'll have to watch the other video later but what I'm curious about is how it comes to a stop in mid-air from some 200 mph +. Maybe the rotors tilt up and then throw out some backwash with the normal helio type blade shifting.

I don't know much about copter auto-rotation other than what I've read about it -- the article was saying that about half of the copter crashes in Nam were survivable for that reason and that the Osprey would not offer that sort of service.
