I don't care, Soviet junk is just that! They needed numbers!

I was just reading a very interesting passage where Guderian had an "I told you so" moment with Hitler. Guderian put Russia's tank numbers at 10,000 back in the late 30's. Hitler thought he was full of it, well in October of 41 Hitler said "If I had known they had that many damn tanks I wouldn't have invaded."

No the writing was on the wall long before Kursk, Kursk was a horrible waste of good men and tanks. Just a lot of people didn't want to admit it. They lost their last chance in the winter of 41/42. The more sensable commanders saw this and wanted to pull back to defensable positions in Russia and sue for peace.
