Valve stem seal conundrum

Did the valve seals on the 260e... was burning a quart every 350 miles... 214k
Now not burning or going through any oil.

Did the valve seals on the 300CE... was burning a quart every 600 miles 165k
Now burning oil at a quart every 400 miles. although I am using 15w-40 instead of 20w-50

I did not use the plastic protectors on the intake valves on either car.

I was hoping that this would stop the oil problem in the CE.. the 260E i figured probably needed a valve job, but apparently not...

Maybe the CE does.. or i wonder if i scored the intake valve seal stems... I do have another package of seals

Both cars run perfectly.
