A dislodged valve seat was the reason the #4 cylinder exhaust valve would stick open a 1/4 inch.

First two pictures are of the #4 cylinder intake valve and exhaust valve with dislodged valve seat. Third picture shows the difference in height of the valve springs for the #4 cylinder intake valve and exhaust valve with dislodged valve seat.
