From what I have heard around here (typically from retired, educated, white people, both men and women, is this)
That race and gender thing is pretty much irrelevant.
Whichever candidate, from either party, that articulates a PERSUASIVE reasoned and logical platform and agenda for CHANGE, will win.
PARTICULARLY with respect to the mindless, endless war in Iraq.
ALL OF THEM want us OUT of that.
Just OUT.
Right NOW.
Waging that war in Iraq is nothing more than some kind of intensely personal private agenda of George Bush and Dick Cheney. Those two will NEVER change from that idea. Never. Not EVER.
From what I have heard and observed, casually, word is that about 95% of the American public is totally just sick of it, just want s the troops back home, and is completely disgusted at the care (or lack thereof), given at the VA hospitals.
As the comedian said the other day, just what would you expect from a President who is a Texas oil man that gives you $4.00 a gallon gas?
