THAT IS BS!!!!! I have been designing brake system components for 12 years. I had the same thing happen in my 1981 300D. One chamber in the reservoir was low (the low level warning system in the reservoir does not work, no surprise) on fluid and had draw air into one line. I filled the reservoir and bleed the brakes...problem fixed.
OEM's in different parts of the world have different design ideas on brake fluid capacity and usage and I do not expect anyone outside of a dealer ship of a make to understand any model of car in this capacity. I could teach a class on this. It is another reason why I am not warm to US OEM's.
What was the reason for the 'test drive'? I do not perform all of my maintenance. If I do not perform the work I only take to places that I know that some one is going out for some frivolous 'test drive'.
