This is why MBZ used to be renowned for continuity. when I looked at these pics I wondered why they'd photographed a W111 with W126 wheels. A close look reveals that at this distance the 15" alloys on the 560SEC are almost (but still notably different) ringers for the 14" wheel covers on the 1971 280SE 3.5 preceding it.

Love these kinds of pics but wonder why they can't get them all in the same color. I know MB offered all these S coupes in black. Why the variation??
