The relay is (was) shot, although I fixed it for now. It seems the water in the relay, corroded part of the circuit board (solder). When I shorted out the corroded part, the relay worked.So I just solder a small wire to jump the corroded part & this fixed the problem.

I would still appreciate if you could have a look at that GP relay you mentioned. I'm not sure how long my solder job will last. If the relay is appropriate, I'd be interested & be willing to pay you for your time. My 240d is a 1982.
