Answer??? Sounds more like a wild guess!!!

I'll bet the front dome light assembly is to blame (that's where the seat belt warning light is). It works off of an internal timer.

Father Bob, try disconnecting the dome light for a few minutes. Then, re-connect it and see if the problem goes away.
