How is it dumb? A country is a geographical area. How can anything make you a citizen of a country more than beginning your existence while in that area?
I must admit I have a stake in this as I was born in America but my parents were not, and I kind of like my country and would rather not have it taken away from me by people whose parents were born in this country, but not their grandparents.
