I must admit I have a stake in this as I was born in America but my parents were not, and I kind of like my country and would rather not have it taken away from me by people whose parents were born in this country, but not their grandparents.

In our country, laws count for more than geography or blood relation or tribe or religion.
Citizenship rules are laws passed by Congress, signed by the president, not Constitutional mandates, IIRC (easy to prove me wrong on that). Thus, a simple vote of Congress and a presidential signature are all that is required to change it.
