i love your mods... how do you like your rubber mats? would you recommend them? i have tried inquiring at the dealer for some and they are extremely unhelpful. the best i found were Lloyds and i didn't like the upholstered mats they sent for my old w123.
also have you thought about tint? i have been toying with the idea. i don't like limo tint, but was thinking more along the lines of a light/medium tint.

My problem with the euro front plates is that they turn the WRONG heads, ie, City Police, meter maids and CHP - the wrong kinds of heads.
As for the mats, I got black ones (Perfect for a black interior) and they were only around $50 for the pair. from the internet (see link below vvvvv)

They are ribbed and gooved, so they catch EVERYTHING, look like they will last forever, and the W126 fit was PERFECT.
They catch EVERYTHING, and are wonderful for grabbing leaves, dirt, slush and snow, and they will retain a LOT of it before you have to open the door and shake them out.
To me they are a necessity, especially in places like San Francisco, where I used to live for years, where treading on dog dump and white paint is very likely to happen if you don't watch EVERY step you take.
I would put a pair in front of the front seats of EVERY good car I had - and in fact, - I did.
For the back seats, cheap Rubbermaid ones, or even $1.00 carpet remnants worked. Cheap and disposable, as the back seats were selodm ever used.
The Mercedes Benz dealer Certified Preowned predelivery sheet noted among the jobs done on my car before I bought it was "Remove window tint" so it evidently had it, at the time it was traded in on the new SL, but must have been illegal to sell the car with it tinted.
Some UV protection value here, and I am not especially into the "Mystique" look that Tints supposedly give.
I have driven SUVs with it (why do they ALL come with it? and in my opinion you don't need it, and it really reduces vision.
Especially at night!!!
You have sunglasses and sunvisors in the car, that should be enough, for the most part, for everyone who thought they needed window tint.
Another thing to think about, and another reason why I would not do it:
In California, it is also illegal to tint the front windows, (though in Los Angeles everyone does it anyway) and up in Nor Cal, the police can, and will, write you for it if they catch you with it.
Not to mention the cops HATE to stop cars with heavy tinted windows, lots of bad boyz have that, and it is very dangerous for them to approach cars like that. It will put them in a bad move if stoppping YOUR car with tints on it.
Another reason not to get them.
So to do it legally, the front and rear window tint would have an awkward look to the windows, and that, I would definately want to avoid.
They need a professional install too, unless you REALLY know what you are doing.
