Don't do it on assembled calipers. You couldn't seal them well enough to prevent moisture from entering and I don't know what chemical changes the process would do to the brake fluid still in the calipers.

Rebuild kits are pretty inexpensive but then again, so are rebuilt (already purtyfied!) calipers.
