Met a friend this evening who asked me to check out his '82 300D. Seemed like flare-out in 1st gear. 2nd ,3rd, 4th and Reverse are fine. I replaced his Switch-over Vacuum Valve levers on top of the Valve cover ( they were totelly worn out ) but I didn't replace the Dashpot valve. Once in 2nd it took off but 1st still almost non-existant.
I wonder if adjusting that Screw on the Tranny that seems to re-engage the bands for the Lost-Reverse-Syndrome would help in this instance as well. Am I crazy here for thinking this?
