Question 1986 300E boggs down at times.

My 1986 300e always starts GREAT in sub zero temperatures with idle increasing until it warms up. However at times when restarting when warm it back fires and has very rough idle for a minute or so then all is well again. It was scary the other day when I picked up a coffee at a drive through and then when I tried to turn into the road and merge with traffic the engine bogged down and could hardly move the car. The problem disappeared in minute or so and all was well again. What could be the cause of this problem? ------- To try to solve this problem I have just a few days ago, changed the fuel filter, Distributor Cap and Rotor, Hi tension Wires, air filter and plugs, but the problem persists.
