The engine is probably pretty good but I'm afraid that I would curse the Fairmont/Granada interior. These years have to be the absolute nadir in the history of Ford (probably all American) cars. "Gee, since we don't have the technology to build cleaner, more efficient cars let's just make them lighter, cheesier and more underpowered in an effort to save fuel." I guess there is an underlying (albeit unintentional) degree of success to their approach: Broken down cars that people hate get driven less and therefore use less fuel and pollute less.
Sorry....rant over. I worked my way through college as a wrench and body shop employee (in those years) and as such have a slightly colored view in this area. Those pictures took me back a quarter century......
