Travelocity Lies thru their Teeth

A co worker used them for a vacation in England and got seriously screwed over.

the hotel travelocity booked was listed as being in London and was part of a package pushed by a Travelocity pop up ad...

Well the hotel was actually in KENT, about 1 1/2 hours travel by bus and train from London.

They called Travelocity and were told "We do not have anything to do with the advertisements on our site. All the ads are prepared by the vendor/hotelier and we just post them. We depend on the vendor/hotelier for the accuracy of their advertisement."

They ended up taking a room in London at a $1300 difference above the $1200 she already paid.

Upon return to the US, She began the battle with her CC company. They initally credited her with a refun of the unused Hotel in Kent and then she was dunned by Travelocity's Collectiion Agency, numerous attempts were made to charge her acount again by the colletion agency and an off shore creit agency that handles Travelocity's European bookings.

She ended up having to close her account and get a new account to stop the recharges. then she gets her credit reports and low and behold travelocity has filed a claim of non payment for services rendered against her. that was finally removed after the NY State Atty Generals Office took on her case.

She was harrassed by phone and by mail by travelocity and their agents, was the victim of false credit history attacks and it almost took a Judges order to correct her records.

Think you are getting a deal? Try the shaft! Travelocity and Orbitz are owned by the Airlines and a Hotel chain not an independent firm. Ever wonder why you don't see Southwest Airlines or any of the smaller discount hotel or the "Atelier" type hotels on there? Simple, they don;t play the game of "screw the customer" so they are not wanted at Travelocity and Orbitz.

Both have also been the source of numerous ID Theft rings thanks to their failure to do background checks on their new hires.

Everytime I have booked a flight, a room or a car I have always been able to get a lower price than all the on line travel services by going direct to the airline, hotel or car agency on line.
